Call Of Duty New Game Release

broken image

An annual fixture in the video game release calendar, the 'Call of Duty' franchise has seen a new title make its way on to the market every year since 2005.

It is therefore unsurprising that Activision confirmed that a 2020 edition of the game is in development during their Quarter 4 2019 investors call.

The first-person shooter series has long been a cash cow for its owners - who are keen for its success to continue. Pokemon nuzlocke game download.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's free to play battle royale spin-off, Call of Duty: Warzone, has a long life ahead of it, including plans for a port for next-gen consoles the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a 2019 first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision.Serving as the sixteenth overall installment in the Call of Duty series, as well as a reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series, it was released on October 25, 2019, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Curiously, though, Activision has not revealed details of who will be developing the game.

Historically, the publisher has had a policy of switching between developers on a rotational basis - with responsibility for the 'Call of Duty' franchise being divided between Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer Games.

Treyarch developed the 2018 release 'Black Ops 4', whilst Infinity Ward handled last year's 'Modern Warfare' title.

Going by the system adopted in prior years then, the 2020 release would have been assigned by Sledgehammer Games. However, per ladbible.com, development for this year's game is believed to instead be being taken on by Treyarch - with Sledgehammer Games being relegated to a supporting role, alongside Raven Games studio.

It is unclear as to exactly why Sledgehammer Games has suffered such a demotion - or why Activision has refused to officially confirm who will be developing the 2020 game. Developer issues have been known to affect the quality of the final product of many games in the past - and 'Call of Duty' fans will be hoping that this is not the case on this occasion.

Activision COO Coddy Johnson was very much buoyant on the future prospects of the series during the investors call, however, suggesting that early play testing of the game had gone well.

'The franchise has never been better positioned for growth. And there's more to come, including entirely new experiences within the Modern Warfare universe and then, of course, in Q4 this year, a new premium Call of Duty release which is already generating excitement in our playtests.'

The 2020 instalment of the 'Call of Duty' franchise will no doubt be a huge seller for Activision. The long-term growth of the series moving forward, though, will depend on the quality of games that it producing year on year. Activision will be hopeful that the revamping of their 'Call of Duty' development strategy proves a success.

News Now - Sport News

Despite a hot digital sales opening for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, fan reactions to the game following its initial release have been mixed. What's generally agreed upon is that a hectic development period for Treyarch and Raven Software led to a skimpy first version of the title that needs to be fleshed out soon.

The Season 1 update to the game will be a telling moment for how well concerns will be addressed over the next year. It's still early enough for existing impressions to be smoothed over.

With a batch of new maps and weapons promised, as well as gameplay tweaks, it's possible Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will feel much more complete by the end of the week. At least that's what Activision will be hoping happens as it aims for a final flurry of purchases before the holidays arrive.

In addition to multiplayer updates, the game will also become fully integrated with Warzone. Warzone will continue to run using the Modern Warfare gameplay engine, but it will soon include Cold War weapons and be available to play straight from the Cold War main menu.

Finally, there will be a rankings reset for Season 1 across platforms. Users will keep their weapon unlock progression and prestige but return to square one in terms of military level.

What are the new Season 1 maps?

There are two new 6v6 maps coming to Season 1 and four new 2v2 maps.

The Pines

As described by Activision:

Located in a neon-drenched New Jersey shopping center, The Pines is a medium-sized, multi-level map at 2900 Churman Drive, just off the I-189. The date is January 21, 1984, and there's little time to check out the latest tech at Radio House or drop a few quarters into the Pitfall! machine at the Galaxy Room: This is where Stitch and Adler get reacquainted. Cutting through the unique shops that populate the side lanes allows for quick, intense close-quarter battles and focused combat, while heading through the middle of the mall enables longer range assault rifle and sniper-focused duels.

Raid

Raid is a throwback map from Black Ops II set in Los Angeles. It's widely loved for its mix of pretty aesthetics and balanced layout for a variety of multiplayer game modes.

ICBM (2v2)

As described by Activision:

Engage your fellow contestants in a battle of wits and gunfire, with the emphasis on the gunfire. This studio setting features plenty of places to engage a less cerebral form of competition, from the contestant podium to the stepped stage and ‘80s camera equipment.

KGB (2v2)

As described by Activision:

Hammer victory home among the ostentatious trappings of the old USSR: Deep within the famous Lubyanka KGB building is an ornate hallway of imposing marble. Seek cover behind thick wooden desks and tall library bookcases and secure a Gunfight win for you and your comrade.

U-Bahn (2v2)

As described by Activision:
